Compulsory Pre-Race Bike Safety Checks at Chain Reaction Cycles

Le Race has some extremely fast down hills, tricky descents and slippery cattle stops. In the best interests of rider safety, competitors must have their bikes and helmets safety-checked.

These checks are free and available from 1st March - 20th March at Chain Reaction Cycles, Midway Moorhouse, 4/218 Moorhouse Ave, Christchurch. Ph. (03) 943 4925

Checks are also available from 10am - 6pm on Friday 20th March for out of town competitors at Race Pack Pick Up at Chain Reaction Cycles, Midway Moorhouse, 4/218 Moorhouse Ave, Christchurch.

Wake Up with Coffee Culture

Good luck to everyone taking part in this years’ Coffee Culture Le Race. The hard work is all done so make sure you relax and prepare well for Saturday. We also know just how important support crews are for events like Le Race, so whether you’re sweet talking your loved one or persuading a friend why not offer to shout them a wake up coffee from our Durham Street or Beckenham store on the morning of the race. Both stores will be open from 7am for the perfect pick-me-up on the drive over to Akaroa. Like us on Facebook to keep up to date with the latest and chances to win free coffee.

Pure Sports Nutrition - Electrolyte Aid Stations

This year, for the first time in Le Race history, there will be an electrolyte hydration aid station for competitors provided by PURE Sports Nutrition. Located along the Summit Road (after the iconic Hilltop) this is your opportunity to top-up those essential drink bottles with a premium electrolyte sports hydration drink.

Option 1: Stop and fill-your-own bottle for FREE. You can take a break and fill up your bottle with PURE Sports Nutrition electrolyte hydration. Plain water will also be available.

Option 2: Pre-Purchase “Grab-and-Go” bottle for just $11.95. No stopping, no support person required. A pre-filled bottle of PURE Sports Nutrition electrolyte hydration will be handed to you at a specially marked aid station … and you get to keep the bottle! We’ll even take any empty discarded water bottles to the finish line for you. Perfect for those who are watching the clock and want to keep moving without stopping.
